Hello Rick,
Just a couple more days till I leave for Colorado. I'm getting pretty excited about heading out. More so now. I got some great news tonight. I talked
to my mom tonight. I don't know if I've told you or not. About 7 months ago my dad was diagnosed with "Valley Fever." (http://www.mayoclinic.com check it out when you have a moment). Anyways...that's where I've been spending a lot of my
weekends at for the past 5 to 6 months...helping my mom out with him or helping with things around the house that my dad can no longer do. Well yesterday his
doctor released him from all the medications that he has been taking for the past 7 months and to top it off....they went back to the doctor's today for
the review of his test results...and the doctor was telling them that he has never had a patient go through the medications and come through like he did at his
age. The meds that he was on is highly toxic to his kidneys and liver. He was under strict observations by the doctors and nurses at all times when he was
having his daily infusions done. Those sessions took 5 to 6 hours daily....now they are complete...finished....done! What a Blessing and I am so happy and
relieved that he is better. He'll have to continue taking meds but only by mouth. No more infusions....
With all that said....my parents can now move on....rest...they both need so much rest...I know my mom was pretty worn out; but she is so strong...I see
that....they are both planning on going to New Mexico in September...just to get away...they deserve it so much.
Thanks My Friend for listening....this too has been bottled up for 7 months....I thought a time or two I was going to lose my dad as he was terribly ill.
It's great to hear the Colorado vacation is so close at hand! I'm excited for you getting away and having fun...especially after reading your message.
What a huge relief for you all...like a miracle! I can't imagine the stress you and your mom have been under the past seven months, and worry. Also your
poor dad with those long, long infusion treatmenst....plus knowing they were toxic to liver and kidneys but had to be done. That he almost didn't make it a
couple of times...Thanks for letting me know what's been going on...why you've been with your parents so much. I'm beyond thrilled that the
dangerous treatments are over forever and your dad's doing so well!! A vacation next month for your parents....I bet they couldn't have imagined that
even a few weeks ago.
Have a wonderful day, Robin and again thanks for sharing this fantastic news....
